Welcome to the EMERGE Toolbox and Lifelong Learning Framework

This toolbox is a practical guide to designing flexible, inclusive and high-quality micro-credentials and short courses. It combines step-by-step support for course design with guidance on institutional requirements and alignment with the EMERGE mission and European recommendations.

The framework guides you through the whole course development process – from understanding learners and identifying their needs, to co-design, course development, delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement. Along the way, you will find practical questions, templates, methods, examples and resources that you can adapt to your own institution and learners.

You can work through the framework from beginning to end or use it as a reference whenever you need support for a particular stage of development.

The EMERGE Toolbox and Lifelong Learning Framework has been developed collaboratively by partners across the EMERGE Alliance together with educators, learners, employers and regional stakeholders. It reflects our shared ambition to create learning that is relevant, inclusive and responsive to real needs.
