Key questions

Before making decisions about course content and learning activities, take some time to reflect on the people you are designing the course for. The questions below are intended to help you explore your learners’ needs and the context in which the course will be developed. You may not have all the answers at this stage—and that’s perfectly fine. The purpose is to help you ask the right questions before moving on to course design.

  • Who are your learners?
  • What motivates them?
  • What barriers do they face?
  • What competences should the course develop?
  • Which stakeholders should you involve?
  • How well do you understand your learners’ needs?
